Fishing Description
Your week with Martin Pescador will be split between two spectacular lodges, Río Yelcho and Río Rosselot, each strategically located to fish a diverse menu of local waters including the two namesake rivers, Lago Yelcho with its famous dragonfly hatches, Río Pico, Río Figueroa, Río Futaleufú and a myriad of smaller rivers and lakes. Whether streamer fishing during the "white bait" run or throwing foam terrestrials, you are fishing for trophy trout at all times on these waters. The trout in this part of Patagonia are protein eaters. While match-the-hatch dry fly fishing plays an important role during certain weeks of the season, if you want to catch an impressive trout on a large fly, there is no better place.
Most of our fishing is done by boat with Martin Pescador. The guide service utilizes a variety of customized watercraft for fishing these waters, including inflatables for whitewater rivers and motor-mount V-hull craft for fishing larger lakes and rivers in the lap of luxury.
Accommodations
The lodges of Martin Pescador would be globally acclaimed without the fishing. Located on the banks of great rivers with rising views of the glaciated cordillera, wood-heated cabins and timber-framed dining rooms are combined with a culinary tradition that is pursued but rarely equaled by all other fishing lodges, featuring a wide variety of local proteins cooked to savory perfection on the parrilla, as well as local fish, salads, fruit, pastries, hot breakfasts, streamside lunches and wine.

Travel
Travel through Santiago to Puerto Montt, Chile, where a ground transfer escorts you to the quaint village of Puerto Varas, featuring traditional German-style architecture and soaring views of Osorno Volcano and Calbuco Volcano from the shores of Lake Llanquihue. We'll spend this night in Puerto Varas, then catch a morning charter flight to Chaiten, Chile, where our lodge hosts await.
Fishing with Martin Pescador is always Saturday to Saturday, 7 nights and 6 days on the water. We book our own travel to and from Puerto Montt. Martin Pescador will take care of the rest.
